What is the Sarasota Swim League?

We are local non-profit organization comprised of local swim clubs working together to foster a positive, family-oriented experience centered on fun, skill development and friendly competition.

How do I sign my child up for the league?

League registration will be done through the individual teams in the leagues.

What are the local teams in the league?

The complete list of teams in the league will be finalized in March 2026. We already have six teams stretching the length of Sarasota County and into Manatee County, and we are likely to add more. Please check back in January for the links to the team that’s the best fit for you.

What does the summer league cost?

Each team will set the cost of their individual program. We will publish the location, cost, schedule and registration information on this page in March 2026.

When does the league start?

The Sarasota Swim League will run from June 1 - July 11, 2026. Registration will take place March-May 2026.

Is this league only for competitive swimmers?

No! Absolutely not! In fact, this league is specifically for younger swimmers aged 5-12 who are seeking to develop their skills in a fun but structured environment. The vast majority of swimmers in the summer league have never swam competitevly. The goal of the league is to provide an entry point for young swimmers interested in the sport of swimming!

How old does my child have to be?

The league is for children 5-12 years old.

Does my child have to know how to swim?

Yes. The minimum requirement for safety is that each swimmer be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. If you’re looking for swim lessons, try the Sarasota Sharks Learn-to-Swim program.

My child is already on a swim team, can I still join the league?

Yes, but we would strongly encourage you to speak with your current coach as to how the Sarasota Swim League fits in with your current training and competition. Chances are, your club has a team in the league, and you should contact your coach about what is best for you.
